Peas Ala Maria(To Be Served With A Roast) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh peas in the pod
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    1/4 c. raw rice
    2 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 medium onion, chopped
Preparation
    Wash and shell the peas.
    Cook the pods in the water with the salt.
    When done, discard the pods and cook rice until tender in the water.
    Combine the butter, parsley and onion.
    Heat to brown slightly.
    Add peas and then slowly add the rice.
    Cook together for five (5) minutes before serving.
