Chicken-Crescent Almondine - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. cooked, cubed chicken or turkey
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
1 (8 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 can Chinese chestnuts, drained
2/3 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can crescent rolls
1/2 c. slivered almonds
2/3 c. shredded strong cheese
Preparation

Cook first seven ingredients in saucepan until hot and bubbly. Pour into a 12 x 9-inch or 13 x 9-inch casserole or baking dish. Separate crescent roll dough in rectangles.
Place over hot mixture.
Combine shredded cheese and slivered almonds and sprinkle over dough.
Cover with 2 to 4 tablespoons of melted butter.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 375\u00b0 until golden brown. Serve at once.
(This reheats well.)
