She-Crab Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. crab meat
    1 pt. milk
    1 pt. cream
    1/4 c. crab roe or 1 chopped egg yolk
    1/2 c. cracker crumbs
    1/2 stick butter
    1/8 tsp. white pepper
    2 tsp. sherry
    1/8 tsp. mace
    1/8 grated onion
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Mix milk with mace.
    Simmer a few minutes.
    Add crab, roe, butter and cream; cook 15 minutes.
    Thicken with cracker crumbs. Season with salt, pepper and onion.
    Add sherry just before serving.
