Hard Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. Loranna flavoring (any kind)
    powdered sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan.
    Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
    Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310\u00b0 or until drops of syrup from hard brittle threads in cold water.
    Remove from heat after boiling has ceased. Stir in flavoring and food coloring.
    Pour onto lightly greased cookie sheet or powdered sugar on foil.
    Pour the candy on powdered sugar.
    Break into pieces.
    Store in airtight container. Makes 2 pounds.
