Sausage Roll - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. bulk pork sausage
1 small onion, chopped
3/4 c. grated sharp cheese
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Brown crumbled sausage with the onion and drain off all fat.
Set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender.
Add milk and stir just to mix.
Knead lightly a few times.
Roll into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread with reserved sausage and then cheese.
Roll up from the long side; tuck ends under and place on a greased baking sheet, seam side down.
Bake about 20 minutes until browned.
Cool slightly before slicing.
Good warm or at room temperature.
