7 Layer Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head lettuce
3/4 c. celery, chopped
3/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, sliced thin
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
mayonnaise (1 c. or more)
10 oz. sharp Cheddar, grated
1 lb. bacon, crisp and crumbled
2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Wash and dry lettuce (not wet); break up.
Layer in large flat bowl the lettuce, celery, pepper and onion.
Sprinkle peas over top.
Cover with mayonnaise.
Sprinkle sugar on top, then cheese and bacon last.
Cover tightly and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Press salad down to get cover on if necessary.
