Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. granulated sugar
5 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 c. solid shortening
1 pkg. active dry yeast
2 Tbsp. warm water
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
melted butter
Preparation

Sift sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening.
Dissolve yeast in warm water in a small bowl.
Add buttermilk and yeast mixture to flour mixture.
Mix well.
Knead mixture, adding more flour as needed. Roll out amount of dough needed to 1/2-inch thickness.
Using the rim of a juice glass or a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Let rise until double in size.
Brush tops with melted butter.
Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven until brown, about 10 to 15 minutes, depending upon size.
