Lollipops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. light Karo syrup
    2/3 c. water
    1 tsp. flavoring
    1/8 tsp. food coloring
Preparation
    Mix sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
    Continue boiling, without stirring, until a small amount is very brittle when dropped into cold water.
    Cook slowly at end of cooking time so that the corn syrup will not discolor.
    Remove from heat.
    Add flavoring and food coloring.
    Stir only to mix.
    Drop syrup quickly from tip of spoon onto a flat, buttered surface.
