Johnny Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks, beaten
1 c. (scant) corn meal
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sour milk
2 egg whites
Preparation

Cream
shortening;
add
sugar and cream well.\tAdd egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients;
add to egg mix alternately with sour milk. Fold
in
beaten egg whites.
Pour into 9 x 9-inch greased pan; bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
