Lizzie Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 c. shortening
2 c. raisins
2 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. walnuts, cut up dates or candied fruit
Preparation

Bring sugar and water to boil.
Simmer 5 minutes and cool. Then add eggs and mix well.
Sift together the following and add to mixture:
flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
Add walnuts, dates or candied fruit.
Beat all together.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
