Sliced Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. medium sized cucumbers, sliced
    6 medium sized onions, sliced
    2 green peppers, chopped
    3 garlic cloves
    5 c. sugar
    1/3 c. coarse salt
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    3 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Wash and slice cucumbers (do not pare).
    Add other vegetables and salt.
    Cover with cracked ice.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Remove garlic cloves; drain well.
    Combine other ingredients.
    Pour over vegetables and heat to boiling point.
    Can and seal.
