Ingredients

6 to 8 fresh carrots
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
2/3 c. orange juice
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Peel carrots; cut into strips lengthwise.
Cook, uncovered, in boiling salted water until tender.
Place in shallow baking dish. Melt butter, stir in sugar and flour.
Gradually add orange juice and nutmeg.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Pour evenly over carrots. Garnish with orange slices, if desired.
