Harlequin Fish Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lb. cod fillet
    salt and pepper
    1 onion
    1 red or green bell pepper
    2 to 3 tomatoes
    1 to 2 c. mushrooms
    2 Tbsp. butter
    grated Parmesan cheese
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. water
    1 bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    pinch of nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. ketchup
    1 c. frozen peas
Preparation
    Skin and cut the fish into fairly large pieces, then salt and pepper to taste.
    Peel and slice the onion; remove the top and seeds of pepper and cut into thin strips.
    Slice the tomatoes thickly; rinse, wipe and slice the mushrooms.
    Put the pieces of fish and the prepared vegetables into a deep oven-proof casserole.
