Country Steak And Chili Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak, cut into serving pieces or 2 lb. cubed steak
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 egg, beaten with 2 Tbsp. water
    3/4 to 1 c. crushed corn flakes
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. cooking oil
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 small green pepper, sliced
    1 large can tomato sauce
    3/4 c. water
Preparation
    Trim off all fat from meat; pound with meat mallet or edge of saucer.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Dip into egg, then into crushed corn flakes mixed with chili powder.
    Heat oil in large skillet; brown meat on both sides.
    Add onion and green pepper. Pour in tomato sauce and water.
    Cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until tender.
    Serves 5 to 6.
