Broccoli Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli
    3 medium onions, quartered
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 c. milk
    3 oz. cream cheese
    1/2 c. shredded American cheese
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
Preparation
    Cook broccoli and drain.
    Cook onions in boiling, salted water until tender; drain.
    In saucepan, melt butter.
    Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Add 1 cup milk; cook and stir until bubbly. Reduce heat and blend in cream cheese until smooth.
    Place vegetable in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Pour sauce over.
    Mix lightly. Top with 1/2 cup cheese.
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter and toss with bread crumbs.
    Sprinkle over cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
