Ingredients
    2 packets active dry yeast
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. cold water
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. honey
    1 c. raisins
    2 c. uncooked oats
    6 to 6 1/2 c. bread flour
    2 tsp. salt
Preparation
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water.
Combine milk and cold water and heat until almost boiling.
Pour hot liquid over butter, honey, raisins and salt in a large bowl and stir until butter melts.
    Cool to lukewarm.
Add the yeast mixture and oats. Beat in 2 cups of the flour until mixture is smooth.
Add remaining flour and stir to make a soft dough.
Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until elastic, about 10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl.
Turn to coat and let stand, covered, until doubled in size.
Punch dough down and shape to form 2 loaves.
    Place in greased loaf pans.
Cover and let rise until nearly doubled.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until bread sounds hollow when tapped.
    Cool on racks.
    Yields 2 loaves.
