2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease cookie sheets.
Sift together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar into bowl or onto waxed paper.
Set aside.
Beat together butter and sugar in large bowl until fluffy.
Beat in egg yolks and vanilla.
Add flour mixture in 4 parts, beating well after each addition.
Shape dough into balls.
Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheet.
Do not flatten! Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly golden around edges.
