Plum Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. plums
    1 qt. sugar
    water
Preparation
    In a large saucepot, put washed plums and barely cover with water.
    Cook until skins break open and fruit is tender.
    Pour into a colander and remove seeds and peelings.
    Measure the amount of juice and pulp; add equal amount of sugar and bring to a boil. Stir constantly to avoid sticking on bottom.
    Simmer until mixture is thick enough to put in hot, dry jars.
