Deluxe Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (4 sticks)
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    4 c. sifted cake flour
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar until mixture is light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add flour and milk alternately, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Pour batter into 2 (9 x 5 x 2 1/2-inch) loaf pans that have been lined with heavy brown paper and thoroughly buttered.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to stand 10 minutes, then remove from pan and carefully strip off paper.
    Cool on rack.
    Makes 2 loaf cakes.
