Plantation Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. (1 qt.) milk
    1 c. cornmeal (white or yellow)
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sorghum molasses
    1 tsp. baking powder
    4 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Scald milk in top of double boiler.
    Gradually stir in cornmeal and cook until thickened.
    Add butter, salt, molasses and baking powder.
    Slowly add hot mixture to well beaten eggs.
    Stir constantly.
    Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.
    Bake in hot oven (425\u00b0) for 45 minutes.
    Serve at once.
    Serves 8.
