Cucumber-Onion Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 c. water
    1 onion, sliced and separated into rings
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine cucumber slices, water and 1 tablespoon of salt in bowl.
    Let stand for 1 hour; drain.
    Add onion rings; set aside. Combine sugar, vinegar, parsley, 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper in jar; cover tightly and shake to mix well.
    Pour over vegetables; toss gently.
    Chill, covered, for 30 minutes.
    Serves 4.
