Meatballs Gordon - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. chopped meat
    1/2 slice white bread, cut into tiny pieces and moistened with water until \"mushy\"
    1/2 egg
    breadcrumbs
    chopped onion, garlic and herbs to taste
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste, plus this can filled with water
    chopped tomato and basil
Preparation
    Start with meat.
    Add bread, beat in egg and add breadcrumbs to thicken.
    Add chopped onion, garlic and whatever herbs to suit your taste.
    In medium saucepan, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, plus the water (see above).
    Add chopped tomato; sprinkle in basil.
    Make 1 1/2-inch round meatballs; place in sauce. Simmer for about 30 minutes.
    Serve with pasta or on sandwiches. . .
    whatever.
    Best if eaten a day or 2 after preparation.
