Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 c. whipping cream
    1 1/2 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine milk, sugar and eggs in large saucepan.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, about 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture thickens and coats a metal spoon (160\u00b0).
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in cream and vanilla; chill.
    Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
    After freezing, transfer ice cream to plastic freezer container.
    Place in freezer to ripen at least 3 hours before serving.
