Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 c. chopped, pitted (Dromedary) dates
    1 c. chopped nutmeats
Preparation
    Combine
    sugar, milk and butter.
    Cook slowly, stirring constantly,
    until\tit
    boils
    at
    240\u00b0 or until mixture forms semi-firm ball in cold water.
    Remove from heat, add dates and nuts.
    Stir
    until\tthickens.
    Roll into 2 rolls, 1 1/2-inches in diameter.
    Wrap in damp cloth until firm.
    Slice.
