Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar well.
    Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been sifted together.
    Chill the dough at least 3 hours.
    Roll into 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured pastry cloth.
    Cut cookies with floured cookie cutters.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Yields about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
