Cherry-Apricot Freezer Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fully ripe apricots, halved and pitted (2 c.)
    1/2 lb. dark sweet cherries, pitted (1 1/4 c.)
    4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    3/4 c. water
    1 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. regular powdered fruit pectin
Preparation
    Wash apricot halves and cherries; drain thoroughly in a colander.
    Finely chop the fruit.
    (You should have a total of about 2 1/2 cups chopped fruit.)
    In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the chopped fruit, sugar, lemon juice and almond extract. Cover loosely; let the mixture stand for 10 minutes.
