Scalloped Potatoes With Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick
    1/4 c. water
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Preparation
    Place potatoes into heavy saucepan with water and salt.
    Cover tightly and bring to a boil.
    Cook for 15 minutes.
    Meanwhile, melt butter in heavy saucepan.
    Stir in flour.
    Gradually add milk.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Cook until thickened.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in cheese, salt and garlic. Fold sauce into potatoes.
    Turn into 1 1/2-quart buttered baking dish.
    Top with buttered crumbs.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until mixture is bubbly and top is slightly brown.
