Ingredients

1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. shortening (Crisco or the like)
1 egg (unbeaten)
1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
1 (10 oz.) jar apricot jam
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation

Cream first 3 ingredients together.
Add next 4 ingredients. Mix well.
Makes a very stiff dough.
Put 3/4 of mixture in a 10 x 15-inch pan and press down firmly to cover bottom of pan.
