Geelrys (Yellow Rice And Raisins) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 c. long grain rice
    2 c. water
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 c. raisins
Preparation
    Melt butter in saucepan and add rice.
    Stir rice to coat with butter (do not brown).
    Add water, cinnamon, salt and turmeric. Bring rice mixture to boil; cover and reduce heat to low.
    Cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
    Discard cinnamon.
    Stir in raisins and heat for 1 more minute.
