Veggie Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. vinegar (red wine)
    1/2 c. oil
    1 tsp. garlic salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 can LeSueur peas drained
    1 can French cut green beans drained
    1 can white Shoepeg corn drained
    1 small jar chopped pimentos drained
    1/2 c. celery finely chopped
    1/2 c. onion finely chopped
    1/2 c. green pepper finely chopped
    1/2 c. carrot finely chopped
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Stir, turn off, let cool.
    Mix next 8 ingredients with cooled dressing mix. Refrigerate overnight.
