Apple Cheese Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1 c. grated unpeeled Red Delicious apples
    1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/3 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar until fluffy.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition.
    Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and ginger together.
    Add 1/3 of dry ingredients to egg mixture; stir in apples, cheese and pecans.
    Add remaining dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
    Pour batter into well-buttered 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
    Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove and cool on wire rack.
    Serve warm or cold.
