Pie Shell - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. shortening
2 to 3 Tbsp. ice water
Preparation

Sift flour and salt together.
Cut in shortening to size of small peas. Sprinkle in water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with fork until all flour is moistened (2 to 3 teaspoons water may be added if needed).
Firmly press dough into ball.
On floured surface, roll crust 1-inch larger than pie plate and about 1/8-inch thick.
Ease and fit pastry into 9-inch pie plate. Trim; flute edge.
Prick well with fork.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until done. Cool.
Makes one 9-inch shell.
