Vanilla Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 large egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar with electric mixer.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Add baking powder and flour, one cup at a time, mixing after each addition. The dough will be very stiff; blend last flour in by hand.
    Do not chill dough!
    On a floured surface, divide dough in half.
    Roll pieces into balls so that you can get a circle 12 x 1/2-inch thick.
    Dip cutters in flour.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet on top rack for 6 to 7 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned.
