Pennsylvania Dutch Cucumbers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large cucumber
    1 medium onion
    1 c. vinegar (white)
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Wash cucumber and score and peel lengthwise with tines of fork.
    Slice cucumber and onion in thin slices.
    Separate onion into rings.
    Mix remaining ingredients together and pour over slices.
    Chill thoroughly (about 1 hour) before serving.
