Irish Scone - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 lb. raisins
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Grease a loaf pan with shortening.
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in butter and raisins.
Place buttermilk, egg and baking soda in a bowl and beat with a fork.
Add egg mixture to dry ingredients, stirring until blended. Turn out dough onto a floured board and knead lightly until smooth.
Place in pan and bake. Check after 35 minutes (may take a bit longer).
