Hot Mulled Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cider
    1/2 lb. dark brown sugar
    1 orange, sliced
    3 sticks cinnamon
    10 whole cloves
    nutmeg
    allspice
Preparation
    Heat cider; stir in brown sugar.
    Add spices.
    Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally to dissolve sugar.
    Float orange slices on top.
    Serve hot.
    If serving from an urn, putting cloves and cinnamon in cheesecloth or a tea ball prevents clogging the spigots.
