Fruit Preserves Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 large eggs
    1 tsp. each: almond and vanilla flavoring
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. each: salt, soda, nutmeg and allspice
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 c. fruit preserves (which have been mashed)
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and bring to boil; let boil slowly for 5 minutes.
    Put on cake while still hot.
