Date Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. dates
    1 lb. candied cherries
    1 cup flour
    4 eggs
    4 cups pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 cup sugar
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together three times.
    Sift over fruit and nut mixture.
    Add beaten egg yolks; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites to which vanilla has been added.
    Let stand 30 minutes. Mix again.
    Line angel food pan or loaf pan with wax paper. Grease; pack batter lightly in pan.
    Cover top with foil.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 hours; remove foil and bake 15 minutes.
