Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak
    1/4 c. salad oil
    1 c. water
    1 medium onion, cut in 1/4-inch slices
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    2 medium bell peppers, cut into 3/4-inch slices
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 to 3 tsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 medium tomatoes
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Trim fat from meat; cut meat into strips.
    Heat oil in a large skillet.
    Cook meat in oil, turning often until brown.
    Stir in water, onion, garlic salt and ginger.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes.
    Add green pepper strips during last 5 minutes of simmering.
    Blend cornstarch, sugar and soy sauce; stir into meat mixture.
    Cook, stirring constantly until thickens.
    Boil 1 minute.
    Cut each tomato into 8ths; put in mixture until tomatoes are hot.
    Serve over rice.
