Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. cucumbers, sliced but not peeled
    12 onions
    4 large green peppers
    salt
    1 1/2 pt. vinegar, diluted with 1 pt. water
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    few cloves
Preparation
    Mix cucumbers, onions, green peppers and salt and let stand for 3 hours.
    Bring to a boil vinegar-water combination, sugar, turmeric, mustard seed and cloves.
    Add pickles and heat through. Stir and boil a few minutes.
    Put in hot jars and seal.
    Makes 9 pints.
