Barley And Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. barley
    4 c. water
    2 beef flavored bouillon cubes
    1/4 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
    2 Tbsp. sliced green onions
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Bring water to boil.
    Add barley and bouillon cubes.
    Cover and reduce heat.
    Simmer 1 hour or until barley is tender.
    Drain. Saute mushrooms, onions, garlic and butter until tender.
    Stir in barley and spices.
    Yields 6 servings.
