Molasses Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    2/3 c. molasses
    1/2 c. milk
    3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. ground ginger
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and molasses.
    Beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
    Roll out in thin layers and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Put applesauce or apple butter between layers.
