Empress Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. boneless sirloin steak
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 lb. fresh snow peas, trimmed
    3 celery stalks, chopped
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    1 medium onion, sliced and broken apart
    1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. Kikkoman soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 1/2 tsp. sugar
    hot, cooked rice
Preparation
    Partially freeze steak; slice diagonally 1/4 inch wide.
    Pour oil in wok or large skillet.
    Heat at high for 1 minute.
    Add steak and salt; stir-fry for 5 minutes.
    Add snow peas, celery, mushrooms, onion and water chestnuts.
    Stir-fry 3 minutes.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes.
    Combine water, soy sauce, cornstarch and sugar; stir well.
    Add cornstarch mixture to beef mixture and cook
    until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Serve over rice.
    Serves 2 to 4.
