Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 eggs, separated
    2 c. milk
    1 pkg. vanilla wafers
    4 to 6 bananas
Preparation
    Mix 1/2 cup sugar and flour.
    Add milk; stir over low heat until hot, but not boiling.
    Beat egg yolks to break up and until light yellow.
    Pour some of the hot milk mixture, slowly, into egg yolks, then pour this mixture back into saucepan and cook until slightly thickened.
    Add vanilla and pour hot mixture over vanilla wafers and sliced bananas.
    Beat 3 egg whites until stiff peaks form.
    Slowly add 6 tablespoons sugar, beating well after each. Spoon on pudding and put in oven until lightly browned.
    Serve cold.
