Shirley Fey'S Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    6 Tbsp. margarine
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according
    to
    directions,
    adding 1/2 cup of mayonnaise.
    Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan;
    set other half to side.
    Bake
    at
    350\u00b0 for 18 minutes. Melt caramels and milk
    together using double boiler or double pots.
    Stir in pecans
    to caramel mixture.
    Sprinkle baked part with chocolate chips and
    pour caramel mixture over that.
    Pour remaining batter over top.
    Return pan to oven and bake 20 minutes.
    Cut into squares to serve and enjoy.
