Fruit Plate With Marshmallow Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. hot water
2/3 c. light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
Preparation

Combine sugar, corn syrup and hot water.
Heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves.
Then boil without stirring to firm ball stage (244\u00b0 to 248\u00b0 on candy thermometer; in humid weather cook to 248\u00b0).
Beat egg whites stiff.
Slowly add hot syrup; beating at high speed until thick and fluffy.
Add salt and vanilla. Gently fold in mayonnaise and orange rind.
Makes about 3 cups.
If thicker than desired, fold in 1 or 2 tablespoons more mayonnaise, or 1 or 2 teaspoons water.
