Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    enough cucumbers to make 1 gal. (when sliced)
    3 big onions, sliced
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed and turmeric.
    Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
    Cool.
    Pour over cucumbers.
    Store in 1 gallon pickle jar in the refrigerator.
    Keeps indefinitely . New cucumbers may be added to mixture as long as liquid lasts.
