Red Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 whole eggs
1 oz. red food coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 scant tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. cake flour
2 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and cream until well blended.
Mix food coloring and cocoa together and add to the creamed mixture.
Sift salt, soda and cake flour.
Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
Fold, but do not beat.
Bake in 3 (9-inch) pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
