Old-Fashioned Molasses Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. molasses
1 egg
dash of salt
sugar to taste as you want
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Make a dough as making biscuits.
Roll out in thin layers and bake just enough to brown on both sides.
Have dried apples cooked and ready.
Put a layer of apples between each layer of cake.
Make it as high as desired. Let cake set for at least a day or so in refrigerator before serving.
