Citrus Fruit Scones - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped citrus fruit, floured
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Sift flour with sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; then sift again.
    Cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; add citrus fruit, toss to distribute evenly, then add beaten eggs.
    Mix with fork until mixture forms a ball.
    Pat dough into rounds and place on greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart; brush tops with milk.
    Bake 15 minutes.
    Makes 15 to 18 scones.
